Meeting Raptivity Users' in Australia at LearnX 2012

The journey was fantastic. The destination – Melbourne, Australia. This is the land of amazing seascapes and landscapes where nature unfolds something new at every step. I reached there at 6:30 a.m. when the weather was bone-chilling at 8 degree centigrade. Brrrr! It was indeed a proud moment for me as this was my first experience of representing Harbinger at a conference against such a beautiful backdrop of Australia.

I was honored to represent Harbinger and our eLearning product – Raptivity in the APAC region for LearnX 2012. This was an opportunity to represent our brand at an international level and observe the attendees and their response towards the product.

Raptivity Booth at LearnXMy first day was spent in a slumber due to the jet lag after a long flight of 14 hours. I stayed in the heart of the city, which is the business center. The next day began early at 7:00 a.m. and the whole experience was new for me. The conference registration, the booth setup, my interaction with prospective buyers and the moments spent there taught me a great deal.

I particularly enjoyed interacting with the users of Raptivity. Responses such as ‘Wow!’ and ‘Great’ towards our product made me feel absolutely on top of the world! I seized this opportunity to understand the pain points and requirements of the users. This helped me to understand how the product can be modeled to suit the needs of the user.

I also had a speaker session on "Learning Interactions on Mobile Devices: What Works and What Doesn’t?" and I received an excellent response with around 35-40 people who attended the session. The groups then flocked to our booth at the end of the session. The day ended around 6:00 p.m. and I returned at the hotel. I had a sound sleep after the day’s hard work and woke up fresh the next day.

Shweta KulkarniI received another opportunity to interact with people and I demonstrated Raptivity samples on the iPad. The people loved viewing this demo. I must also mention that the award ceremony was organized on 30th August. I collected the award on behalf of Harbinger Group. Harbinger Knowledge Products won the LearnX award for “Best eLearning Design – Game and Simulation” category. Great work HKPPL team!

We had earlier announced a raffle and we awarded an iPod Shuffle to one lucky winner. Following this, I left for India the next day.

I had come with a sense of excitement and enthusiasm. As I left for India, I was equipped with a lot of knowledge from my experiences which I am sure will help me on the professional front. There were many moments that I will cherish forever…..Thank you team Harbinger and the wonderful people of Australia!
