Adding Interactions as a Flash file to your Slides

You can add an engaging interaction on any slide of the PowerPoint. There are no gimmicks to it but certainly simple guidelines to be followed. Read them and get trending with interactive PPT slides.

a. Open the PowerPoint presentation in which you want to add the interactivity. Go to the slide where you want to add the interactivity.

b. Click the “Microsoft Office” Button, and then click on “PowerPoint Options” as highlighted in the screenshot below.

c. Click on “Popular”, and then click to select the “Show Developer tab in the Ribbon” check box under “Top options for working with PowerPoint”, and then click “OK” as shown in the highlighted in the image below.

d. On the “Developer” tab, click on “More Controls” in the “Controls” group as shown in the image below.

e. In the list of controls, click on “Shockwave Flash Object”, click “OK”, and then drag on the slide to draw the control.

f. Resize the control by dragging the sizing handles.

g. Right-click the Shockwave Flash Object, and then click on “Properties”.


h. On the “Alphabetic” tab, click the “Movie” property.

i. In the value column (the blank cell next to Movie), type the full drive path, including the file name (for example, C\:MyFile.swf) or uniform resource locator (URL) to the Flash file that you want to play.

j. Set "EmbedMovie" property to “True”. Set "Playing" property to “True”. All of these items are highlighted in the screenshot below.

k. Close the Properties box.

l. Run the presentation in slideshow to view the interactivity.
